While manufacturing has long been dominated by manufacturing processes such as turning and milling, the use of additive manufacturing - specifically the selective laser melting (SLM) of titanium pours - marks a paradigm shift in the conception of balancing systems.<\/p>\n<p>The company FBT Fine Ballistic Tools GmbH is positioned at the forefront of this technological evolution with the INCA product range. This document provides comprehensive technical documentation and operating instructions for the INCA family of silencers, including the HOT, AIR, ONE and TAC series.<\/p>\n<p>It is intended for professional users, armourers and sports shooters who are technically aware, as well as for shooters who require a thorough understanding of the operation, manipulation and maintenance of these complex monolithic systems. In contrast to conventional silencers, which are often composed of an external tube and an internal movable (emplacement of chicanes), the INCA systems are characterised by a monolithic construction, i.e. imprinted \u201cin a single block\u201d. This construction philosophy requires a reduction in manipulation, particularly in terms of maintenance, as disassembly has been abandoned in favour of maximum structural integrity and optimised internal weight geometries.<\/p>\n<h4>1.1 Objectif et champ d'application<\/h4>\n<p>The primary objective of this report is to provide instructions that comply with the standards and are focussed on safety for the use of 3D printed titanium silentware. While the traditional manuals often describe the disassembly process step by step, this document focuses on the preventive maintenance of the interfaces (filetages) and the system's balancing implications. The instructions cover the use in hunting scenarios where the \u201ccold bore shot\u201d (shooting with frozen canon) and weight reduction are paramount, as well as sporting and tactical use, characterised by high shooting cadences and a significant thermal load. The procedures and warnings described here apply specifically to combinations of titanium grade 5\/23 materials and carbon composites, such as those used in the INCA series.<\/p>\n<h4>1.2 \u00c9volution de la s\u00e9rie INCA : Du concept \u00e0 la s\u00e9rie<\/h4>\n<p>The name INCA stands for a programme for the integration of point materials. Its development began with the aim of eliminating the inconveniences of classic stainless steel (high weight, sensitivity to corrosion) and aluminium (low resistance to heat, erosion). Thanks to the use of titanium in 3D printing, internal structures have been created, optimised in terms of fluid mechanics, without being limited by the constraints of CNC machining tools. This has made it possible to create a fixed material structure and a design that efficiently turbulences and refreezes the gas volume before it leaves the canon.<\/p>\n<p>The family of products is divided into four specialised application areas: the robust series\u00a0<strong>HOT<\/strong>\u00a0for a maximum charge, la s\u00e9rie l\u00e9g\u00e8re\u00a0<strong>AIR<\/strong>\u00a0avec protection anti-mirage, la s\u00e9rie int\u00e9gr\u00e9e\u00a0<strong>ONE<\/strong>\u00a0for a symbiosis esth\u00e9tique avec l'arme et la s\u00e9rie tactique\u00a0<strong>TAC<\/strong>\u00a0pour les syst\u00e8mes semi-automatiques et automatiques.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>2 R\u00e9f\u00e9rences normatives et consignes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 (Conformit\u00e9 UE)<\/h3>\n<p>The use of silencers is subject to strict regulations in the European Union as well as in the national legislation of the Member States. This manual is based on the directives of the European Directive 2003\/10\/CE concerning the protection of workers against the risks associated with noise and on the relevant laws on aerodromes.<\/p>\n<h4>2.1 Classification juridique et conditions d'acquisition<\/h4>\n<p>The silencers are, in most European jurisdictions, assimilated to the firearms for which they are intended. This means that the silencer is considered to be an essential part of the weapon. Acquisition and possession are generally subject to authorisation. However, the loud supersonic sound of the projectile (sonic boom) cannot be physically eliminated.
