Finale of a big dream" "Fine Ballistic Tools" is the first company to open in the Gröbming business park.

In the Gröbminger The first company was able to officially open its site on Wednesday at the industrial park directly on the B 320. It is "Fine Ballistic Tools" (FBT), founded by Schladming notary Wolfgang Erhart, who has brought Moritz Rainer (27) on board for the expansion.

Ten years ago, Erhart founded the hunting rifle company, which specialises in light Carbon shafts specialising in all gun models. Previously based in a 35-square-metre office in Schladming, the company now has a "modern development site" covering 780 square metres, with a gunsmith's workshop, its own shooting range and shooting channel, explained Erhart. And Rainer added: "It's the finale of a big dream". The duo's goal - together with eight employees - is to be able to provide their carbon fibre shaft for "every weapon system in the world".

Many mayors from the area between Schladming and Öblarn travelled to the opening, as well as a delegation from the Liezen district governor's office and regional entrepreneurs. Thomas Reingruber, mayor of Gröbming, was particularly pleased with the opening: "The realisation of the business park has been a lot of work over the past four years. Now it is finally becoming a reality.

Erhart mentions Reingruber's tenacity right at the beginning of his speech: "He didn't let up, even though we had actually already finalised the contract for another location. But then he convinced us that there was no better place than here in Gröbming." The man in question then made a joking request to FBT: to write "Made in Gröbming" on the weapons instead of "Made in Austria".

Meanwhile, work on the business park continues in the local community centre. Nine businesses are already fixed at the conveniently located site on the B 320, "half of the spaces are still available, says Reingruber. However, this is not due to a lack of demand, on the contrary: "We have already cancelled 30 companies because they did not meet our target criteria such as innovation, workplace procurement and nature conservation"

There had also been applications from four supermarkets. However, retail was excluded from the outset "so as not to weaken our town centre. In addition to FBT, a small business centre and a joinery will open this year. E-Werk Gröbming will begin the move "at the end of the summer", informed Managing Director Ernst Trummer, who was also present. Three to four companies will also start construction of their buildings this year, according to the head of the village.
