We at Fine Ballistic Tools were once again delighted to expand our presence at SHOT Show 2025.

As part of the IWA pavilion, which is this year is twice as large as last year at 352 square metres, we had the opportunity to present our Austrian craftsmanship and innovation to a broad international audience.

Our stand was located in a prominent position within the IWA pavilion, which A total of 19 exhibitors from various countries is harboured.

This strategic placement allowed us to showcase our products alongside other leading European brands and benefit from the increased visibility offered by the joint stand.

Our product range

At the SHOT Show 2025, we were able to showcase our products from high-precision Hunting rifle stocks and gun care products. With the establishment of our US branch in 2023, we also took over the distribution of Flunatec gun care on the North American continent. Our products are characterised by a combination of traditional craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology. Visitors to our stand could look forward to the following highlights:

  • Lightweight Carbon stocks for precision rifles
  • Ergonomically optimised stocks for hunting rifles
  • State-of-the-art oil-free gun care
  • Innovative material composites for improved durability and weather resistance

Market trends and innovations | our observations

The SHOT Show 2025 took place in a interesting political context as they are the first issue during President Donald Trump's second term in office was. We expected this to have an impact on sentiment in the industry and possibly also on regulatory discussions.

Networking and business opportunities

The SHOT Show once again offered us an excellent opportunity, maintain existing business relationships and make many new contacts. With over 55,000 expected visitors from the industry, we see enormous potential for expanding our sales network, particularly in the North American market.

We planned to hold several meetings with potential sales partners and wholesalers during the trade fair. Our aim was and is to strengthen our presence in the USA and open up new sales channels for our high-quality products.

Industry-wide developments + Innovative weapon designs

SHOT Show 2025 will also be a platform for presenting industry-wide developments. One notable trend is the Introduction of new calibres and weapon systems. For example, Savage Arms will be presenting new models optimised for the innovative 21 Sharp calibre - a rare new development in the field of small-calibre ammunition.

In addition, we are observing a growing interest in lever-action rifles, as the expansion of Rossi's R95 line shows. As a manufacturer of rifle stocks, we see potential here for the development of specialised stocks that improve the handling and ergonomics of these classic rifle designs.

KelTec introduced the PR57 an unconventional 5.7×28 mm pistol. This compact model (7.16 inches long, 13.86 ounces) dispenses with a detachable magazine in favour of an internal magazine that is loaded through the extended ejection port.

The 7mm Backcountry from Federal was presented at the SHOT Show 2025 as one of the most important innovations in the field of ammunition (magnum energy from 50 cm barrels). This innovative cartridge is characterised by the following features:

  • Utilises a sleeve made from a special sleeve alloy from Peak Alloy that enables chamber pressures of up to 80,000 psi
  • Achieves about 3,000 fps from a 20-inch barrel with a 170-grain bullet, which is about 150 fps faster than a 7mm PRC from a barrel of the same length.
  • Designed for shorter barrels and optimised for use with silencers
  • Fits into standard long-action fasteners

It will be interesting to see how the CIP in Europe to the SAAMI Specifications will react (or how long it will take for these developments to be standardised in Europe) - after the .277 Fury found her way to the US armed forces and the hunt.

Federal offers the 7mm Backcountry with various bullet options:

  • 155-grain and 170-grain Terminal Ascent
  • 168-grain Barnes LRX
  • 175-grain Fusion Tipped
  • 195-grain Berger Elite Hunter

The SHOT Show has already presented 14 different manufacturers' rifles in this new calibre. Some of the models presented were:

  • Christensen Arms Ridge Line with carbon fibre barrel and stock
  • Savage with 14 different SKUs, including a model with MDT Hunt 26 chassis and 18-inch barrel
  • Fierce Twisted Rogue with carbon shaft
  • Gunwerks
  • Bergara (announced for 2025)
  • MG Rifles

Ruger was also mentioned as a manufacturer of 7mm backcountry rifles, but had no models on display at the SHOT Show.

The broad acceptance of the calibre by gun manufacturers indicates great interest and potential for the 7mm Backcountry.

Technological advances

Another focus of the SHOT Show 2025 will be on technological innovations. We are also observing developments in the field of additive manufacturing with great interest. 3D printing technologies open up new possibilities for the Production of complex shaft geometries and the realisation of customer-specific designs.

International perspective

As an Austrian company, we bring a unique European perspective to the predominantly American-influenced SHOT Show. We see this as an opportunity to transatlantic exchange of ideas and technologies to promote. Our aim is to bring out the best aspects of European hunting tradition with the innovative approaches of the American market to connect.

Our presence in the IWA pavilion emphasises this international orientation. Together with exhibitors from Germany, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Turkey, we represent the diversity and quality of the European firearms industry.

Outlook and expectations

For Fine Ballistic Tools, SHOT Show 2025 was an important milestone in our company's development. We expect that the show will not only open up new business opportunities for us, but also appreciate the valuable insights into the latest market trends and technological developments.

We are confident that our innovative products and our commitment to quality aroused lasting interest among visitors to the SHOT Show. The trade fair offers us a unique platform to strengthen our brand and consolidate our position as a Leading manufacturer of high-quality hunting rifle stocks and 3D printed titanium silencers to consolidate.

Finally, we would like to invite all interested parties to visit us at the IWA 2025 in Nuremberg to visit us. We look forward to sharing our passion for precision and innovation with you and shaping the future of the hunting and shooting sports industry together.
