Manual clamping

The S 404 impresses with its patented safety concept, the centrepiece of which is the completely newly developed hand tensioner. The metal slider, which is ergonomically positioned perfectly on the lock, not only allows comfortable, but also easy and safe use. Silent cocking of the rifleas the locking button integrated in the rear third is automatically cushioned by the soft tissue of the thumb. When the button is pressed again, the tension slide - automatically controlled by the thumb - slides back into the relaxed position.

Automatic firing pin safety catch

In addition to manual cocking, an automatic firing pin safety works inside the S 404 to prevent the rifle from firing unless it is fully locked. And to open the rifle - for example when loading and unloading - in the uncocked state, it is sufficient to push the cocking slide forwards by two millimetres and unlock the chamber at the same time.
